Soon after the death of Connery on October 31, a fake letter is doing the rounds on social media in which Connery is said to be rejecting an offer made by Jobs to appear in an Apple commercial. The letter claims that Connery told Jobs: “You are a computer salesman, I am f***king JAMES BOND!”
In fact, this is not the first time this letter has gained popularity online. As per a report by CNET, this letter appeared online for the first time in 2011. Just for the record, Sean Connery never sent any “typewritten letter” to Steve Jobs in 1998.
The source of the letter will actually amuse you. This letter was published as a part of a satirical article written by a website called Scoopertino. As the name suggests, it’s a satirical website that publishes “Unreal Apple News” just to make people laugh.
Over the years, people have forgotten the context and social media now is simply putting this fake nasty letter out-of-context to go viral cashing on the sad demise of Connery.
I enjoyed this letter from Sean Connery to Steve Jobs. https://t.co/qSv13CDEsr
