A 27-year-old Indian woman techie drowned at Bald River Falls in the Tennessee state of US.
Kamala Polavarapu, a native of Krishna district in Andhra Pradesh, and her fiance were enjoying a day out near the falls when both of them slipped and fell into the water, according to a WBIR News report.
Kamala’s fiance was saved after tourists nearby jumped into the water to rescue them both. However, Kamala was found trapped under a heavy tree branch in the water after 40 minutes of search.
Emergency responders performed cardiopulmonary resuscitation but she remained motionless.
Kamala was rushed to the Sweetwater Hospital but doctors declared her brought dead.
Polavarapu was working as a software engineer at a firm in Mayfield Heights, Ohio.
